Giving Opportunities

Planned giving: Charitable bequests.. the gift of help

All it takes is a simple clause in your will to leave a gift of help to the Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors (CJCS) Foundation.— and to continue transforming the lives of seniors for years to come. Make the CJCS Foundation a beneficiary in your will and know that your legacy will live on. In an existing will, simply add a codicil to make the amendment.

To easily add CJCS Foundation to an existing Will, speak to your notary about preparing a codicil which is a document that allows you to make simple amendments without having to rewrite your will.

Tax receipts for the full amount of the donation may offset capital gains or other taxes payable and lessen the financial burden to your loved ones?

Gifts of Stocks & Securities
A donation of publicly traded securities is one of the easiest and most effective ways to support the Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors Foundation.

All donations of stocks and securities to our Foundation are totally exempt from capital gain tax. This is a win-win situation. Both our seniors and you the donor will benefit!

Giving a gift of stocks and securities is simple: Just call Cathy Simons, Foundation Director at 514.343.3529 local 7229. Give a gift in December and benefit from a tax receipt.

Naming Opportunities
A number of opportunities exist for perpetual naming of key areas such as activity rooms, auditoriums, kitchen, offices as well as some of our vital services and programs. A plaque with an individual’s or family’s name will be mounted and a dedication ceremony will take place, acknowledging your generosity. We can assist you in identifying that special area that would be meaningful to you.

In the News: The Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors Foundation is pleased to announce the naming of the Fels Family Adapted Art Program.

Major Gifts
Major donors are individuals, foundations or corporations who contribute a minimum of $5,000 to the Centre. These gifts may be designated or non-designated. Designated or “thematic” giving allows you to support an area or service/program of the Agency, which interests you personally. Non-designated funds are used, at the Agency’s discretion, in areas where it is most needed.

To make a contribution, please contact Cathy Simons in the CJCS Foundation 514.343.3529 local 7229.
