Work out your body and brain

Staying fit both mentally and physically has been a priority for Connie since turning 50. “I have maintained a very active lifestyle and I was over 80 when I joined Cummings,” says Connie. “Now approaching 89, I have never looked back!”

Who is Connie?

Connie has become somewhat of a role-model at the Centre participating in Cardio-Balance and Aerobic classes four times a week. ”I am passionate about these classes as they provide me with a full-body workout under the watchful eyes of the highly trained staff,” points out Connie. “I know I will not hurt myself and feel more than 100% safe in the classes.” With a love for forming new friendships and helping others, Connie volunteers in the Registration area, attends a variety of lectures and is an avid participant in the bi-weekly ‘Circle of Friends’ group.

Her philosophy

“I am always open to new experiences and Cummings provides so many opportunities for everyone,“ says Connie. “I can put my worries aside and be happy keeping both my brain and body active – it’s more important to be busy and be with people than worrying about being tired!”
