Boxing Interval Fitness & Vocal Training for Parkinson’s
Tue (15 Sessions) Sep 08 - Dec 15 | 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Exercise your cardio, coordination & strength with a series of 3 minute "rounds" of brain building boxing sequences, and lower body strengthening exercises. Follow this with 60 minutes of breath & vocal training! All that you need is some space, a water bottle and a chair. If standing for too long is an issue, you can also choose to do all the exercises seated. Boxing gloves are not required!

Maria is co-manager of the Wellness Centre and a fitness instuctor for over 20 years. She has designed and developed the Cummings Adapted Exercise clinic which allows participants with Parkinson's, stroke, multiple sclerosis and orthopedic issues to exercise in a safe, rehabilitative environment.
Victoria McNeill (MMus, MTA) has been working as an accredited music therapist since 2014. Victoria began her professional career providing music therapy services as part of The Cummings Centre's many memory care groups. Since that time, the services at the Cummings Centre have grown to include a Glee Club in the mental health department as well as Broadway for Parkinson’s, Supported Conversation and Sing Me Your Story, both programs for Aphasia. In addition to her music therapy work, Victoria is also an accomplished classical musician, with degrees in classical French horn performance from Memorial University and McGill University. During her time as a music therapist, Victoria has worked with individuals aged 2 to 102 and has served individuals with a wide array of abilities.

Should a participant withdraw more than 5 business days prior to the start date, one of the following will apply:
a)Credit Notes: A full credit note will be applied to be used against a future purchase at the Cummings Centre; or b)Refunds: A $10 administrative fee will be withheld, and refunds will automatically be applied against the credit card purchase. Only when payment was made by cash, cheque, or debit card will a refund be issued by form of cheque.
