LIVING WITH STROKE

DESCRIPTION
In collaboration with the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, Living with Stroke™ is a community-based support and educational program designed for stroke survivors and their care partners. The 8-week program will help you gain confidence to manage the challenges of living with stroke, and to meet others going through a similar journey. Participants of this program must fulfill the criteria given by Heart & Stroke and the support group animator, which are:

  • Participant needs to have completed both in-patient and out-patient rehab

ANNE NEWMAN
Anne has been an integral part of the Adapted Exercise Clinic since 2010. Beyond her Kinesiology background, she has worked as a research coordinator at the MUHC Lymphedema clinic. As well, she has been a dedicated volunteer at AMI-QUEBEC (ACTION ON MENTAL ILLNESS) since 2006, serving as a support group facilitator and member of the Board of Directors. This experience has contributed largely to her special interest in the benefits of physical activity for folks with mobility disorders and for people with mental illness.
