SCULPTURE - STONE (IN PERSON)

DESCRIPTION
Create a design in stone in three dimensions while developing techniques and sculpting skills. A mask worn over the mouth and nose is compulsory when stone carving. Power tools are not permitted.

INSTRUCTOR

ESTHER TOPAZ
Born in France and raised in Israel, Esther came to Canada in 1966 and soon after, her career as a sculptor commenced. She has exhibited in Montreal, Toronto, Israel and New York; and her sculpture, “Reach for the Stars,” in memory of the Challenger disaster, is on permanent exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Her sculptures exude a raw, primeval energy evident in the male/female form, so prevalent in her works. Esther Topaz’s sculptures have a flow and sensuality, indulging the viewer in positive, uplifting sensations.
To experience Esther Topaz’s work is to treat one’s spirit and soul to the essence of the quintessential artist.
