INSTRUCTOR

ROBERT WISEMAN
Robert Wiseman graduated from Concordia University in 1997 with a B.F.A. in Studio Arts. He has since pursued an artist career with enphases on oil paint, inks and water colours. The focus on traditional subjects of landscape, still life and figure study form Robert Wiseman’s main interests. His works offer inventive functions from a lineage originating in direct observation. The colour palette, mark making and brushwork is measured in an intuitive manner, a strategy Wiseman uses to isolate vibrancy, variation and the personal. Recent Wiseman’s works have elements of the narrative, however his objective is with the act of painting - the push and pull of colour with the physical nature of the painting materials in his compositions. Wiseman lives and works in Montreal, Quebec.
