TALKUMENTARY SERIES: KUSAMA INFINITY

THE LIFE AND ART OF YAYOI KUSAMA
Yayoi Kusama turns 90 this month. The Japanese artist has much to celebrate. She is the most famous living female artist in the world. Kusama, Infinity explores Kusama’s fierce determination to become a world-renowned artist. Born into a conservative family in rural Japan, she reached out to Georgia O’Keefe and then made her way to America on the heels of WWII. More than 5 million people have visited her shows since 2014. Her popularity has also translated into commercial success, and Kusama is consistently among the best-selling names in the global art market. Last year, her work netted more than $108 million at auction, more than any other female artist, Time magazine named her on its "100 Most Influential People" list.
