Join us for a musical morning where we will explore the sounds and lyrics of music from Israel with recording artist Shy Ashkenazi. Come learn about the ways music reflects the history, population, and culture of Israel in this live music experience over Zoom.

SHY ASHKENAZI
Shy Ashkenazi is Jewish Agency for Israel Shaliach at the Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia, US. Shy holds a B.A in Education and Theater from Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and has translated those into every day work with Shlichim and youth in Israel, coordinating a national youth leadership program and working with youth movements, training young adults with education tools, alongside stage work in musicals and various theatrical events (acting, writing, directing and producing). After serving in the IDF for 4 years in a special operational communications unit as a commander and in a role of an operations officer, Shy started his journey with the world of Shlichut in Jewish summer camps in the US. For the past 13 years Shy worked for the Jewish Agency for Israel in summer Shlichim training and coordinating. Shy is a recording and performing musician, with a debut album released in 2017 and performances all over Israel and in the US.
