As the COVID-19 virus circles the globe, we are now seeing the impact that it has in our community, particularly on our seniors. The Cummings Centre is committed to meeting the challenges that they face by incorporating the following procedures:
- Cummings Centre staff will continue to deliver Meals-on-Wheels to existing clients. This plan is in place to ensure that there will be no stoppage of delivery for the next while.
- The Social Services department has gathered a team of staff to do grocery shopping as well as other essential shopping for Social Service clients who have no family members, or other support, to help them during this difficult time.
- Federation CJA, The Cumming Centre and Ometz worked together to create a Jewish Community hotline. A joint emergency response team will coordinate the calls and respond directly. This hotline is open to the community at large.
