OUT & About – Where inclusion and diversity shines
The Cummings Centre’s LGBTQ+ Committee has been hard at work this year with the launch of a new event series – OUT & About. The series is focused on increasing opportunities for socializing, celebrating, and building a stronger sense of community for our members, who are allies or members of the LGBTQ+ community.
We have strengthened our collaborations with community organizations like Gay & Grey and continue to work to enhance the lives of LGBTQ+ seniors, while also ensuring that Cummings Centre is a safe, welcoming space for all. This summer, as part of this new series, we have hosted a social bowling event at Laurentian Lanes and a cabaret production of Queer Yiddish from Montreal’s Queer Magique. The show featured music in French, English, and Yiddish and brought together a full audience for an enjoyable evening.
Smash it indoors – pickleball at its best!
Rain or shine, you’re invited to join us on August 11, from 7 to 9 PM! ‘Pickle Me Proud’ will be the final event in our OUT & About series!
This event is designed to bring together members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies for a fun-filled evening of indoor pickleball, camaraderie, and friendly competition. Compete for prizes, celebrate Pride Season, meet new people, and enjoy the spirit of pickleball. This event will take place at the CSL Aquatic and Community Centre.
