Flourish – Art & Craft Show and Sale for Spring!

The Cummings Centre’s annual Art Show will be held in the Gelber Centre, in Montreal, on April 22 and 23. Get ready to be wowed with over 150 fine art and craft pieces made by local artists and artisans!

The Highlight of This Art and Craft Exhibition

“As part of our wonderful initiative to foster intergenerational connection, Crafting Legacies, funded by Canadian Heritage, students from Herzliah High School and L’Annexe had the unique opportunity to learn woodworking directly from dedicated senior volunteers. Guided by Hershey Fitleberg, one of the Cummings Centre’s most cherished teachers, the students created beautiful, handcrafted pieces. Their work will be proudly showcased in this year’s Art Show, highlighting the incredible impact of sharing knowledge across generations”, expressed Carrie Mazoff, Project Coordinator.

Therefore, what’s special about the art show this year is that it will be an intergenerational collaboration of local artists in Montreal!

Marilyn Green: wonders of watercolours

Marilyn Green, the artist and educator featured in this year’s Art Exhibition publicity, has long been a beloved instructor of Watercolour Magic at the Cummings Centre. Through her guidance, students have refined their skills in this medium while also cultivating a vibrant and supportive community of local artists united by a shared passion for creative expression.

“The inspiration for my work emerges from the many dimensions of life, interpreted through an abstract lens. As an abstract painter, I am drawn to watercolour for its ability to express colour in its purest, most luminous form. My process often begins with an element of nature that captures my curiosity and serves as a point of departure. Through watercolour, I aim to convey the sense of wonder and transformation inherent in both teaching and learning”, shares Marilyn.
