New Year? New Opportunities!

2026: Make it your own!

The New Year always brings opportunities for growth. 2025 belongs to the past — it’s 2026, a fresh beginning. There’s so much we can do. What’s in store for you? Will this be the year you’ll discover your new favourite hobby, focus on better health, meet new people, or get more involved in your community?

Whether you’ve been looking for that special something that will inspire you, or you finally have the time to rediscover an old passion, with hundreds of programs, both online and in person, chances are we’ll have at least one program for you!

To Be Inspired — And to Inspire

From print making and drawing to playing a tune, art can take many forms. This winter, awaken the artist in you!

Tap into your creative potential with our wide variety of art programs, like Acrylic Painting, Drawing Basics, Printmaking, Watercolor Magic, Stone Sculpture and Polymer Clay, to name just a few. If you would rather have the freedom to experiment will different mediums in a less structured environment, then our Artists’ Studio is for you!

To sit back and relax, we invite you to discover our Memorable Melodies Concerts or reserve your Every Film is a Journey Passport. To be part of something special, join the Cummings World Choir or play a few tunes on the ukulele. Discover all our music programs and entertainment. If you prefer to express yourself through words, then Write About It, join our Creative Writers and if you’re up to the challenge… Write your Mini Memoir (new)! Explore all our programs about literature.

Beautiful friendships often take shape in our Social Clubs & Games. For those who love to play games without having to commit for multiple weeks, you can simply drop in for Canasta, Mahjong or Bridge, or try our Games Club to enjoy even more games such as Chess, Backgammon, Scrabble and Poker! For women wishing to connect with one another and build friendships, there’s our well-loved Circle of Friends.

If you enjoy connecting with people and helping others, why not channel that passion into volunteering and creating real impact in your community? We have multiple openings for the winter: Welcome and Information desk, Café Soleil servers, Café Meet up for Post Stroke Survivors, Social Action Committee work, Cummings to Community facilitator assistants at various locations and more! Review all our current opportunities to volunteer in-person and online.

Love travelling all around the world! However, it’s not always so easy to do… this is why our Tours & Virtual Travel are such a hit! You get to learn about the history of beautiful places from the four corners of the world while in the comfort of your own home. Our Centre also offers multiple language classes, in French, Italian and Hebrew, for beginners, advanced beginners and intermediate levels. If you’re always curious to hear about the latest news, both national and international, you’ll probably be interested in News & Views, by Stan Nachfolger, or a fascinating analysis of Donald Trump vs. Mark Carney,  by Donald Cuccioletta. Don’t miss the chance to be part of these promising discussions! There are 5 sessions each.

Last but not least, let’s not forget our physical health! Whether you’ve been looking to get back in shape or improve your cardio, flexibility, strength or balance, our wide range of Fitness programs can help you achieve your goals. Zumba, Chair Aerobics, Boxing, Pilates, Tai Chi, Yoga… There’s something for everyone! We also have a Workout Studio, equipped with the most up-to-date fitness equipment.

If exercise is more difficult for you because you’re a post-stroke survivor, have Parkinson’s disease or have mobility issues, we invite you to look at our Adapted Programs, specially designed to help with rehabilitation. Please note that a Fitness Consultation (that can be done online or in person) is required for all Wellness and Adapted programs. Our certified kinesiologists will attest to your health condition and help guide you through the options available to you according to the results and your goals.
