MARK J. POZNANSKY
Mark Poznansky is the Founder of G2G Consulting Inc., which offers a range of services including program analysis, strategic planning, change management, leadership training, mentoring management restructuring and mediation. He has also launched a website, Saved by Science, where he blogs on scientific subjects. Dr. Poznansky was educated at McGill University, earning a BSc and PhD (1970) in Physiology, before pursuing postdoctoral training in Biophysics at Harvard Medical School (1970-1976). He completed Programs on Negotiation at Harvard Law School (2009). After a stint as “charge de recherché” at the Collège de France, Dr. Poznansky launched his academic career at the University of Alberta (1976), rising to Associate Dean of Medicine, before leaving to join the Robarts Research Institute (1993-2007) as its President, CEO and Scientific Director. He also served as President and CEO of Viron Therapeutics Inc. (2003-04). In 2008, he joined the Ontario Genomics Institute (now Ontario Genomics) first as Chair of the Board and subsequently as President and CEO. He served as Chair of the Council for Health Research in Canada and of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Canadian Medical Discoveries Fund. During his career he sat on and chaired innumerable boards including the International Barcode of Life. A member of the Order of Canada and the Order of Ontario, Dr. Poznansky was granted a Lifetime Achievement Award from Ontario Life Sciences. He has published over 100 articles, reviews and editorials, as well as numerous scientific patents. A sought-after speaker, he often addresses topics of personalized medicine, climate change, the future of agriculture and synthetic biology.
