FREE PROGRAMS IN PERSON OR ONLINE

February is Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance & Inclusion Month (JDAIM), a unified effort among Jewish organizations worldwide to raise awareness and foster acceptance and inclusion of people with disabilities and mental health conditions and those who love them. As part of this initiative, the Cummings Centre will be featuring several programs at its main campus located at 5700 Westbury Ave. and online. There is no charge for these events.

PAST EVENTS

MEMORABLE MELODIES – THE ROARING TWENTIES (IN PERSON)
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 12 • 2:00 – 3:00 PM

Come warm up your voice and body at these live, interactive concerts presented in collaboration with La Sams. Explore new and familiar music at the Cummings Centre on Monday afternoons. Reserve your seat!

ADAPTED EXERCISE FOR FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT (ZOOM)
WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 16 • 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM 

Do you have difficulty walking and maintaining your balance? Then join Maria for this 30-minute functional movement class that focuses on slow and controlled weight-bearing and leg strengthening exercises.

GAMES CLUB (IN PERSON)
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 13 • 1:00 – 3:00 PM 

Are you looking for a group of players to play Chess, Backgammon, Scrabble, Mah-jong, Rummikub, or Poker with? Come and play! We also have plenty of other games to play like Trivia pursuit, Checkers, card games, and more!

VOCAL TRAINING: CLARITY, STRENGTH, AND FLEXIBILITY (ZOOM)
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15 • 10:00 – 11:00 AM 

If you live with a health condition that has impacted your voice, this class will provide you with concrete skills to reconnect with your voice through a series of vocal warms ups and exercises to foster awareness, strength, clarity, and flexibility.

ARTISTS’ STUDIO (IN PERSON)
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15 • 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM 

This new, inclusive art program offers a space for independent members to arrive with or without materials and create in a supportive environment under the guidance of a certified Art Therapist. Weekly themes will guide your work, while the materials are up to you!
