For High School students interested in fulfilling their community service hours and interacting with seniors in a warm atmosphere, the Cummings Centre is an ideal place to volunteer.

The Cummings Centre also offers a leadership training program (LEDA – Leadership, Education, Development, Action) for secondary V students from Herzliah and Bialik High Schools.

An application and interview process is required.

The goal of LEDA is to enable students to take a leadership role while:

  • Participating in the Centre’s programs and services to the 50+ community
  • Learning the facts about a non-profit agency
  • Meeting seniors and understanding their needs
  • Benefiting from hands-on experience

  • Enhance your CV
  • Training and development of leadership skills: i.e. communication & teamwork skills
  • Become familiar with the activities and programs of a senior centre in the Montreal Jewish community
  • Exploration of students’ strengths and talents
  • A supportive environment which will help you to develop and learn
  • Certificate of participation from a recognized Leadership Program
