COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH TEAM LAUNCHES TWO NEW ART THERAPY PROGRAMS

A new Individualized Art Therapy Program designed to meet the therapeutic needs of the client will be offered in person this fall.

Funded by the Rona and Irving Levitt Family Foundation.

A new Group Art Therapy Program will begin this fall in order to provide socialization and opportunities for therapeutic creative expression.

Funded by the Jewish Community Foundation’s Nova Grant.

PROMOTING STRENGTH & RECOVERY

Our mental health team provides support and empowers older adults who live with a mental illness. We help enhance their quality of life through:

  • Advocacy
  • In-home Support
  • Integration into the Centre
  • Psychosocial Support
  • Tailored Intervention Plans

We focus on breaking isolation through a variety of social groups and activities.

  • Creative Arts Program – Art, Drama, Music and Pet Therapies
  • Cooking Program
  • Glee Club (In collaboration with Agence Ometz)
  • Jewish Holiday Celebrations

The Community Mental Health Day Program is funded by the Rona & Irving Levitt Family Foundation Endowment Fund.
The Therapeutic Cooking Program is funded by the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation
The Pet Therapy Program is funded by the Adler Lipkus Foundation, Albert Levy and the Jeff & Elizabeth Kolovsky Foundation.
