Battle of the Brains -Trivia Night with Eric Vernon

Eric Vernon was born and raised in Toronto and received his post-secondary education at the University of Toronto, the University of Waterloo and Ohio State University. From 1987-2011, he served as the principal lobbyist in Ottawa for the Canadian Jewish Congress, advocating with all parties, drafting position papers and briefs on human rights and social justice issues and liaising with the diplomatic corps, senior public servants, NGOs, and other faith group and ethnic community representatives. Following the demise of CJC, Eric worked as the Senior Advocacy Officer for the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers for two years and then retired in 2014. Of interest to us trivia buffs here tonight, in 2017, Eric won two games as a contestant on the quiz show Jeopardy! hosted by Canada's own, the late Alex Trebek. This past summer, Eric celebrated his 35th anniversary with his wife Laura Gomberg, a native Montrealer. They live in Ottawa with their Shetland Sheepdog, Angie."
